During the first years of WWII, upto 1942, captured Allied aircrew held by the Germans were dispersed in a variety of prison camps scattered thr0ughout Germany and Poland.  This book, the produce of 15 years researching, reconstructs the history of three of these camps; Oflag IXA/H, Fort XV and Oflag XA.  The Allies lived in conditions that directly contravened the Geneva Conventions.  This book highlights their plight and struggle.  Research includes interviews with survivors.  A fascinating read
