This is the story of the last Englishman to be imprisoned  in the Tower of London.  A man who seemed to court trouble from an early age,  It was his intention, from this book, to clear his name by showing he was merely a victim of circumstance, acting innocently and in good faith in Germany in 1933.  He claims that he would have proved that he was a German citizen at the outbreak of war and therefore could not be tried in the British justice system.  But this book is not just about one man's crusade to clear his name, it is a fascinating story, set against the backdrop of Europe in turmoil, which answers many of the controversial questions.
