This is the third in the series of autobiographies written by one of the great Americans.  This book takes us through the great depression, the Republican efforts to remedy a desperate situation, and finally the "new deal".  Hoover was very much involved in all of the political issues of the time.  It is written that these memoirs "constitute his political testament".
